Ann Hui to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Venice Film Festival 2026

The Venice International Film Festival has announced that veteran Hong Kong director Ann Hui will be the recipient of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement will be presented during the 83rd edition of the festival.

Hui, whose career spans more than four decades, is widely regarded as one of the most important voices in Chinese-language cinema. Her work has consistently explored social issues, identity, and the everyday lives of ordinary people in Hong Kong.
